Why Captain Izaak Loves Wreck Fishing
"Wreck fishing is my absolute favorite," says Captain Izaak. "The shipwrecks and artificial structures create perfect habitat for larger fish. When you hook into a big grouper or amberjack around a wreck, you know you're in for a real fight!"
Trophy-Sized Fish
Wrecks attract and hold the biggest fish - grouper, amberjack, cobia, and other trophy species.
Intense Action
These fish fight hard and use the wreck structure to their advantage - be ready for epic battles!
Historic Wrecks
Fish around real shipwrecks and artificial reefs that have decades of marine growth.
Bragging Rights
Land a fish from a wreck and you'll have a story to tell for years to come!
What Makes Wreck Fishing Special
Shipwrecks create an artificial reef system that attracts baitfish, which in turn draws larger predatory fish. The structure provides shelter and ambush points for big fish, making wrecks some of the most productive fishing spots in the Keys. We use heavier tackle and stronger leaders because these fish will test your equipment to the limit.
Important Note
Wreck fishing requires more experience and involves stronger fish that fight harder. While suitable for intermediate anglers, beginners might want to start with our reef fishing trips first.
